About the Program

Heather Winkeljohn, the Health Educator and owner of the JW Nutrition Program, specializes in working with clients who want to enhance their well-being through better nutrition. With a BA degree in Psychology and Education, Heather brings a unique perspective to her work. She is also certified in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition™ and is currently pursuing a nursing degree.

The Importance Of Gut Health

One of the primary concerns addressed by the JW Nutrition Education Program is the impact of stress on our bodies, particularly on the gut. In our modern lifestyles, stress has become a prevalent factor. Alongside the daily stresses of work, family, and responsibilities, our bodies face an internal battle. We are constantly bombarded by factors such as medications, diets high in sugar and refined carbohydrates, infections, and viruses. Often, this battle begins in the gut, which serves as our first line of defense in maintaining overall health.

Addressing The Challenges

The JW Nutrition Education Program recognizes the widespread challenges we face today, including the epidemics of obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases, as well as the general feeling of unwellness. For individuals seeking answers, there is a multitude of questions: How do we lose weight effectively? What foods should we purchase? Should we follow a dairy-free, gluten-free, or “Paleo diet”? The program aims to provide clarity and guidance amidst this confusion. Rather than relying on guesswork, the focus is on testing and evidence-based approaches.

Nutrition Coaching

Heather Winkeljohn offers nutrition coaching to clients of various ages, both individually and at the corporate level. Her coaching approach encompasses a wide range of tools, labs, and strategies to help individuals achieve their goals. Drawing from personal experiences with autoimmune issues and her family’s medical struggles, as well as her former career conducting assessments for the State of NM on special needs children and babies, Heather brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to her coaching practice.
